As this was Lyndon's second time out on ESCAPADE NZ he was itching to get into the seat again. After a couple of false starts it was the shotgun that took off again.
With all rods cleared it was over to Lyndon to have some fun.
It is so much easier in the game seat but you still have to work for your fish. Less talking more winding.
This fish was a little greener and took a few late runs possibly as she was brought in quite quick. But the bend in the rod had everyone excited.
Once alongside we had a tag pole malfunction so Lyndon grabbed the second tag pole and got to Tag his own fish.
Another nice big Blue Marlin. Was this to be a trend for the Day? Lets hope so.
Official estimated weight 90kgs Blue Marlin on 24kg gear.
That night back at anchor Lyndon entered the days efforts into his Fishing Log. His advice from the computer gods- you just wait, tomorrow is going to be even better!!!
We fished the middle FAD (Fish Attracting Device) and while clearing lines this large Mahi Mahi felt it was time to come aboard. After bashing itself all around the deck Lyndon finally got to jump on it.
A solid fish and as she jumped on so close only a 2 minute fight. Yum Yum.
Sadly only one Marlin for Dad but 1 for 1 ain't a bad count.
