So keeping true to form, our last day in Tonga was full on to say the least, 4 different activities kicked off by lunch at Fresh Cafe with some fabulous people who are amazing role models for the youth of Tonga. "On the Spot" Arts Initiative was created by the Fifitas and their friends to "educate, empower and engage in activities which promote creative thinking, artistic expression, social responsibility, global awareness and local action". We have participated in and enjoyed many of their activities from the "Shifting Sands" art exhibition, the "Kids Creative Dance Group" and "Stage Fright" performances. Most of them are also involved in Tae Kwon Do and the 5 Fifita siblings have been great baby sitters for the kids . We took them to lunch as a small thank you for everything they had done for us and for a chance to say special goodbyes.
Around the table we go - Dylan, Yvann, Chris, Ebonie, Lyndon, Mercy, Nisyola, Ruha, Sia, Minaira, Emily and me
The boys - Lyndon, Sia, Yvann, Chris, Mercy and Dylan
Girls turn - Ebonie, Nisyola, Minaira, Ruha, me and Emily
After lunch Lyndon and I had to close the bank accounts and do a few other final things so we left the kids with the Fifitas. By this stage Ebonie had started on Emily's arm with some Henna dye and Dylan wanted his done also. No problems I said, do what you want but you must stop at their shoulders - DO NOT TOUCH THEIR FACES - they must look like their passports photos to fly home the next day. An hour or so later we came back to collect them and the artwork was complete, much to the kids delight.
Minaira continuing on from Ebonies' work
Nisyola jumped in for her turn
The finished product on Dylans' arm.
