Little Italy

After we left DC3 we moved into Little Italy on Vuna Rd, with beautiful views to sea and overlooking the delightful barge that washed ashore in the Feb 2010 cyclone. During the day we were at the house cleaning and supervising contractors and getting it all ready for the Kick family. At night time we were out with friends at various gatherings, getting in way too late and getting up way too early. Our last 2 weeks in Tonga were action packed and just flew by. Lucky for us Little Italy had great food and it was just a matter of ordering pizza on our way in and 20 mins later it was delivered to our door.
Emily went to school with Sara, whose parents Angelo and Mele own Little Italy and they certainly looked after us during our stay. Surprise room deliveries of ice cream sundaes for the kids some days and cocktails for us on other days, bless them!!

Pizza on the balcony after a long day cleaning

I always said that I wanted to go and check out the barge when the tide was right and on our last day in Tonga the tide was just that. So, before the last hash and our final farewell dinner there was a quick dash out to the wreck with Dylan, Tomasi and Sese.

Yep, it is just an old rusty barge, hung up to dry on the reef. The boys put their own hole through the rusty hull, just because they could.

Emily had another sore foot so her and Piani stayed ashore. This is the front view of Little Italy.

Finally some quiet time for the kids so straight onto the DS they went. We didn't mind them having some down time because they had been good helpers during the week at the house... And also because....

... at the end of our last hash we had sunset drinks on the balcony. Here we are with Jack, Steve and Owen.

Later that night....
