On the last day in Kauai we had planned to go Jungle Surfing. The kids thought that having their own flying fox at home in Tonga would be enough practice for them to do the professional course. Well at home we don't have height and weight restrictions but here they do and for safety reasons Dylan was too light and too short. So, we had to come up with plan B. Plan B was shopping and lunch until Dylan spied the brochure for ATVs through the bush. It was 3 votes to 1, so off to Kipu Ranch it was for a spot of rough riding through a working cattle station, which has also been the home to many movies.
Don't we look lovely, in front of King Kongs' mountain.
Lyndon was in his element, we had lots of fun.
Nothing like choking on the dust of the dune buggy in front.
A quick rest stop at the jungle vine used in the "Indiana Jones" movie.
Dylan did the best swings of our group because he was the lightest.
I love this shot because of the dust cloud from the buggy's in front of us, but you can still just see the row of Norfolk pine trees along the boundary fence.
Yes, I was hanging on for dear life in some places, but it was alot of fun, and very dirty.
Keeping a respectable, safe distance from the ATV in front.
At the end of the day, we stopped at a waterfall on the property for a refreshing dip.The walk down was through an amazing bamboo forest.
Did I say refreshing??? Bloody freezing was more like it!!!
A bit cleaner than when we started, and definitely cooler.
Time to head back to the office after a fun few hours.
