Hawaii - Big Is Volcano Accomodation

After our 4 hour drive from the airport we made it to our little B&B Accommodation in the sleepy little town of Volcano, and couldn't get inside quick enough due to the cold. This side of the island is always wet and cold, (which we were expecting) but it was still a shock after 3 glorious weeks in the sunshine. It was a good base for the 2 days to come, as it is only a short 5 minute drive into Volcano National Park where all the action is. We stayed in a self contained unit but this little number below was one accommodation option. Aptly named the tree house, the kids thought it was cool until we checked it out properly the next day, in the day light.

This is the Green option of a tree house.

Stunning views from every vantage point.

The bath come shower had a cracker of a view into the bush.

And no tree house is complete without a dunny, with a view.
Strangely enough Jodie had booked us into the normal house room with warm running water.

We continued to explore and found some amazing gardens.

But just down this-a-way was the real attraction.

No not the dodgie rusty ladder....

But your own lava tube right under our accommodation.

Now this is even cooler than the tree house according to the kids and with less spiders.
