Gotta love this town, everything is bigger and better than anywhere else! We will definately be coming back here for another holiday. Although we did not get to do everything on our list we gave it a pretty good shot. So, here are a few photos of our favourite things.
M&M World, 5 floors of all things M&M, we have never seen such amazement on the kids' faces. And of course, the Golden Arches, with fully flashing gold neon lights in the night time
Pokies out on the footpath, just in case you are over come with the urge to dabble and don't want to be indoors whilst doing it..... Only in Vegas
Lyndon and new friend. The Eiffel Tower was great, especially in the night time at the top. Oh, the strawberry daiquiri and dice lollipops were great also.
A quick gondola ride through the Venetian anyone??? Or what about a walk up and down the strip at midnight with a 1L Midori Margarita that has taken 3 hours to drink????
Real live Pink Flamingos - this town has it all! And a very strangely designed restaurant at Trump Tower
NEXT STOP - GRAND CANYON
There are many different ways to see the Grand Canyon and plenty of tour companies to get you there. We ended up going on the Grand Voyager tour, a fixed plane flight over Hoover Dam and Canyon, then changing to a helicopter that flew you low through the canyon landing on the canyon floor, then we did a boat ride up and down the Colorado River - and the reverse, with a lunch stop on a reservation where the sky walk is located, then sadly back to the hotel. Words really can not express just how amazing this natural wonder is, and the photos certainly do not do justice to the rich colours of the rock during sunrise. A 3am start in the freezing cold was not really what we needed but definitely worth every minute.
Heading out to the hills of the Nevada Dessert
Up and away in the 12 seater and over Hoover Dam
First view of the Colorado River and Dylan in the front seat of the helicopter
Down on the canyon floor and what do you see? Yep cactus
Out on the river you get a great appreciation of just how enormous the cliff faces are, as evidenced by the minute little boast moored along side the pontoon.
Time to head onto the next part of the journey, this second pic shows how low the river was due to lack of rain
The Skywalk - a glass roof over hanging the canyon for a more "birds eye" view.
Lunch with a view and Lyndon doing a spot of rock climbing before heading home.
