Rainbow's End Theme Park

Having been to all of the theme parks on QLD's Gold Coast, I wasn't holding out for something fantastic here, but quite surprisingly "NZ's Premier Theme Park" wasn't that bad after all, and as we don't have one in Tonga, it made the TO DO list. Little did I know at the time of purchasing the tickets it was located out at Manukau, a 1.15 hr bus ride each way. Luckily, the public bus service in Auckland was very good and we got to see the 'burbs on the way there and back. Except for the really scary rides and the ones with height restrictions, we gave all the rides ago and some even got a second attempt. Highlight of the day was the lunch time entertainment with young kids doing circus tricks and some pretty cool juggling and acrobatic moves.

Lunch time entertainment

12 hole mini golf was a hit with the kids. They think they are experts given that they have been practicing in Tonga on a "real golf course". Dylan made a cracker hole in one but finished on 53, Emily won with 50 and mum came last with a sad 60.

Emily channelling her inner Driving Miss Daisy whilst Dylan chased her around trying to smash into her at every possible corner.

Behind this wall was a 3D Jungle Dinosaur Rescue show which was great.

Dylan loved the bumper boats, a few people got "accidentally" smashed if they got in his way.

Of course there was the trusty old Pirate Ship ride.

Look mum no hands, we were all feeling a tad queasy after this one.

Finally an ice cream to finish of a great day.
