A day at the Theatre

As there are no theatres in Tonga a live performance was definately on the cards, so was a movie on the big screen. Lucky for us we got tickets to see Cinderella, the Pantomime at the beautiful Civic Theatre in town and then in the evening we were off to IMAX to see Tangled 3D. Much to the kids disappointment Pirates of the Caribbean 4 was not out yet, so we settled for the Disney classic about Rupunzel but with a modern twist.
The Cinderella pantomime had quite a few local references that we didn't really understand but we still enjoyed the show and the costumes were fantastic. Our front row seats ensured we were involved in some of the casts antics and the story itself took quite a few liberties, so was not quite true to the original. That didn't matter a bit and it was a treat watching the kids enjoy themselves.

What is a fairy tale without a Fairy Godmother?

The 2 ugly sisters!

Cinderella in her carriage(from a can of pumpkin soup as no pumpkins were available) and mice were turned into her horsemen.

Prince Charming (in gold at the front) at the Royal Ball

Emily and Dylan after the show with Prince Charming

Looking groovy in their 3D glasses

This is as close as Emily could get to a character from her favourite movie, can't wait for a copy of it to turn up at our local DVD store, Sam's video.
